Earlier in December, I purchased a female Ball Python from you and I have to say I’m completely happy. Not only is she healthy, but she’s also incredibly active, docile, and friendly. I have her feeding on frozen large mice already and after the first feeding session, she knew the separate tank was meant for eating. I can honestly say that I’ll recommend you to anyone looking for a ball python. I can’t be happier than I am with your service and the care the snakes have before I receive them. Any future purchase I make will be through here first and foremost.

    BABY BEARDED DRAGON FOR SALE

It is advisable to opt for captive-bred specimens as they tend to be healthier. Additionally, captive-bred bearded dragons are generally more docile when kept in captivity compared to those caught in the wild. There is also a wide range of colour bearded dragon morphs available, although they may come at a higher cost than “normal-coloured” dragons. Lastly, we exclusively offer captive-bred reptiles for sale on our website.

    BABY BEARDED DRAGON SIZE

How big can a bearded dragon get? Bearded Hatchlings measure about 4 inches; large adults or full grown bearded dragon can be nearly 2 feet in length.

    BEARDED DRAGON LIFESPAN

The typical lifespan of captive bearded dragons ranges from six to 10 years on average, but there have been instances of individuals living up to twice that duration. It’s commonly understood that providing optimal nutrition and care significantly contributes to extending the lifespan and overall well-being of these beloved reptiles.

    BEARDED DRAGON ENCLOSURE

While a juvenile dragon may temporarily inhabit a 20-gallon aquarium, it will soon outgrow this space and require a larger habitat. For one or two adult bearded dragon, a 75-gallon aquarium or a similarly sized enclosure is suitable. Proper ventilation is essential, achieved through screening on the top of an aquarium or in custom-built enclosures, which we prefer for all our bearded dragon breeders.

In warmer climates, outdoor enclosures are an option for pet dragons. These should offer both sunny spots for basking and shaded areas for rest, along with protection from rain. Exposure to sunlight outdoors ensures adequate UV exposure, promoting overall health. Additionally, providing sturdy branches allows bearded dragons to indulge their natural climbing behavior in their habitats.

    Bearded dragons for sale

Interested in handling or picking up a bearded dragon? It’s a straightforward process if done correctly! Bearded dragons are typically calm and handle better compared to other lizard types, particularly when they’ve been raised in captivity. You might even find them at reptile expos, contentedly resting among vendor displays or sitting on their owners’ shoulders.

bearded dragon care – UVB Lighting

In addition to ensuring your bearded dragon receives ample basking light, it’s crucial to provide full-spectrum UVB lighting throughout the entire enclosure. This lighting mimics the ultraviolet-B spectrum of natural sunlight, which is essential for your dragon’s health. Indoor dragons rely on UVB light to synthesize vitamin D3, crucial for calcium absorption. There are various types of uvb light for bearded dragon, so it’s advisable to seek guidance from store staff and carefully read product labels to choose the most suitable option for your setup. Additionally, take advantage of our free bearded dragon care sheet for further guidance.

Temperature regulation is equally important. Heat sources such as reptile heat tape, controlled by a reptile thermostat, or ceramic heat emitters can be used to maintain optimal temperatures in the enclosure. It’s essential to monitor cage temperatures with a thermometer, ensuring they remain within the appropriate range. Nighttime temperatures may drop to around 65 degrees Fahrenheit, so it’s crucial to maintain a comfortable environment for your pet at all times.

    Bearded Dragons for sale

Bearded dragons thrive in warm environments, preferring temperatures around 100 degrees Fahrenheit for their basking spot. This warmth can be achieved using a spotlight, like a mercury vapor bulb AVB, or a ceramic heating element placed over a rock or branch at one end of their enclosure. Positioning the spotlight at one end of the cage enables the bearded dragon to regulate its temperature by moving between the warmer basking area and the cooler end of the enclosure, which should be maintained at around 80 degrees Fahrenheit.

    BEARDED DRAGON DIET

Baby bearded dragons are omnivorous, meaning they consume both animal and plant-based foods. They typically have hearty appetites and eagerly consume their meals. It’s important to provide a varied diet to ensure their nutritional needs are met.

For protein, offer insects like crickets and mealworms. Before feeding them to your baby bearded dragons, lightly coat the insects with a vitamin/mineral supplement and calcium. You can achieve this by placing the insects in a plastic bag with some powder and gently shaking it to coat them.

In addition to insects, offer finely chopped vegetables such as romaine lettuce, zucchini, and carrots, as well as greens like collard, mustard, and dandelion. Fruits like kiwi, banana, and mango can also be included in their diet. Make sure to use nutritious, vitamin-rich items and sprinkle powdered supplements on these foods as well.

Avoid feeding them iceberg lettuce as it lacks nutritional value. By providing a balanced diet with a variety of foods, you can ensure that your baby bearded dragons receive the necessary nutrients for their growth and development.

    Bearded Dragon food

Bearded dragons will also consume pinky mice, and there are numerous nutritionally balanced manufactured diets accessible at pet stores. If you choose to house your dragons on sand, it’s best to provide food in a shallow dish rather than directly on the substrate.

    BEARDED DRAGON WATER

Spray your bearded dragons with water using a spray bottle; they will drink water droplets from various surfaces in their enclosure, including cage walls and rocks. However, be cautious not to make the enclosure too wet and humid. Provide water in a large dish for them to soak in, ensuring it stays clean and refreshed regularly.

RARE BEARDED DRAGONS FOR SALE – SUBSTRATE

Sand is a popular choice for bedding in baby bearded dragon habitats, but there’s a notable risk, particularly for young lizards, of intestinal blockage if they ingest it accidentally. It’s advisable not to use reptile sand or loose substrates for young bearded dragons. Instead, opt for alternatives like newspaper, paper toweling, or reptile carpet. However, be cautious of reptile carpet with loose threads or areas that could catch the dragon’s toenails.

    ADULT BEARDED DRAGONS FOR SALE

Also, adult bearded dragons for sale can be kept on these same substrates. If you must use sand, playground sand (available at hardware and do-it-yourself stores) is a decent choice due to the fact that it’s not as dusty as other types of sand. Because you can also purchase digestible “reptile sand” at reptile and pet stores, though opinions on the safety of these are varied. If you try some, be sure to follow manufacturer directions. Don’t forget that sand mixed with clean soil that has not been treated with any fertilizers, pesticides, etc., can also be used with adult bearded dragons.

If you keep your baby bearded dragons on the sand, reduce the risk of impaction by offering food on a shallow dish rather than placing it directly on the substrate.

    BABY BEARDED DRAGON

Although several other species are becoming available as pet bearded dragons for sale, the most commonly available variety is the central or inland bearded dragon, Pogona vitticeps. Interestingly, species is native to arid, rocky areas of Australia, and is typically tan/brown in coloration (but several color morphs are also available).

Handling your baby dragon regularly is important

When handled regularly, baby dragons can turn into excellent pet bearded dragons as they mature.  Here at CB, we handle our baby dragons as often as possible to ensure they’ll adjust quickly and become a tame pet bearded dragon sooner than you’d expect.

    bearded dragon for sale

Did you know that the bearded dragon name is derived from the spines that line their throats? Interestingly, these spines usually lie flat but if the dragon feels threatened, the throat is expanded causing the spines to stand up and making the dragon look like they have a beard and more intimidating (especially combined with their tendency to flatten their bodies to appear wider). However, bearded dragons are generally docile and their aggressive displays are rarely seen in captivity which makes them very popular pet reptiles for sale.
